A day after AAP was routed in the Delhi municipal polls, Aam Aadmi Party Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh and co-in-charge Durgesh Pathak resigned from their respective party posts.
Making their announcing on Twitter, Sanjay Singh tweeted that he has submitted his resignation to AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP chief whip in the state assembly, Sukhpal Khaira, said “It is a good beginning to take corrective measures. I am sure the national convener will take more such steps, which will lead us to a good performance in the 2019 elections.”
Both Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak were accused of sidelining the local leadership of Punjab and running the entire campaign during the Punjab assembly polls. The party had failed to perform as per expectations, winning just 20 seats of 117 seats in the state assembly.
