Aam Aadmi Party leader Yogendra Yadav has said the graph of the party in the country had fallen drastically after its convener Arvind Kejriwal resigned as Delhi chief minister.
"No doubt our graph was rising when we formed the government in Delhi, but it started falling after Arvind Kejriwal resigned as the Delhi chief minister," said Yogendra Yadav, who was in Sangrur on Thursday night to hold a road show in support of the party candidate from Sangrur Bhagwant Mann.
"Before quitting, he should have asked the public, as we did before the formation of the government," he said while talking to the mediapersons.
On the increasing popularity of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the country, especially in Varanasi, he said: "A huge amount of money is being spent on his publicity. The BJP workers are giving their own footage to the news channels."
"But I am sure that Arvind will win with a big lead from Varanasi," he claimed.
He, however, skipped a question about their ability to run a government in Delhi saying: "We are here to teach politics to these politicians."
Earlier, addressing a huge gathering late night in Kaulan Park in Sangrur, he appealed to the voters not to get lured by the false promises of Congress and Akali leaders. "You have to protect your vote bank for the next five days," he said, adding that: "Now they will try to lure you with money and drugs but you should not be get misled by them."
"During my Punjab visit, I have come to know that Punjabis are fed up with the Congress and the ruling SAD-BJP combine and they have decided to vote for the AAP candidates," he said adding that, "The results will be shocking for them like the Delhi election."
He also named some politicians of the ruling party for allegedly running drug and sand mafia in Punjab. "It is because of the uncontrolled sale of drugs that the future of Punjabi youths is bleak. Now only the AAP can protect you against this evil as God has created a new political alternative in the country," Yadav claimed.
