AAP starts 100-km cycle rally to protest against VIP culture

A cycle rally led by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior party member HS Phoolka kick started from Ludhiana to Chandigarh on Sunday.

The rally which will reach Chandigarh on Monday is marked to protest against the rampant VIP culture and the wastage of public resources.

The party members said that the government has no money to pay the salaries of its employees but are spending lavishly on their security and travel.

They also remarked that MLA's have doubled their salaries but the old age pensions are still pending to be distributed to the people in need and the scholarships for differently-able are not given.

"We demand the implementation of the principle where lowest employee should be paid first. The ministers and minister's staff should be paid after everyone else in the department ," said Phoolka.

As told by AAP party members, the rally is also against the use of drugs and government's failure to run de-addiction centers in the state.

The rally has been scheduled to take stops at Ghulal at 9am, Samrala 11 am, Bondali 3.45 pm, Khamano 5 pm, Khant-Manpur 6pm, Morinda which will be a night stop.

On 30th march, will reach Kharar at 9am, Mohali 10:30am and then rally will reach Punjab Secretariat at 12:30pm.
