The district unit of the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday staged a protest outside the mini-secretariat demanding the resignation of Union finance minister Arun Jaitley over the DDCA row.

The protest was staged following a call by the party

Following a call of a district level protest across the country by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the members of the Patiala zone AAP held a protest outside the mini-secretariat and raised anti-government slogans here on Saturday.

Members demanded resignation of the union finance minister Arun Jaitley over the DDCA row and said that minister should step down from his post for fair enquiry into the case as follow the footsteps of L K Advani who had resigned in 1996 after allegation were leveled against him in the Hawala case.

AAP workers said that Jaitley is innocent like Advani, he will not fear for any enquiry and must resign from all post until probe not completed.

The zone in-charge of the party, Dr Balbir Singh said that ruling BJP government is trying to shield his minister even prime minister promised during election campaigns that he will stand against the corruption and “Na kahhoga n khaane duga” but now he took u-turn.
