Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activists staged a protest against union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde outside the state library here on Tuesday.
The activists were expressing their solidarity with Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal who sat on a dharna in the national capital since yesterday against the Delhi police for not taking action against allegedly irresponsible cops.
AAP's local leader Dr Dharmveer Gandhi said, "The Congress-led UPA government is trying to create problems for the Delhi government, as it fears defeat at the hands of the newly formed political outfit in the coming Lok Sabha elections".
He claimed that if the Delhi Chief Minister's demand for action against the policemen who refused to carry out a raid on an alleged drug and prostitution ring on a Delhi minister's directive last week, was not fulfilled, AAP would take 1 lakh activists from Punjab to Delhi to join the protest.
The agitators demanded that the Delhi police should be brought under the control of the Delhi government.
The protestors claimed that the AAP wave had spread throughout the country.
AAP leaders alleged that both the Congress and the BJP had exploited the voters and had corrupted the entire system.
