The Rahon police have recovered a 14-year-old abducted minor girl of Lalpur Taprian village and arrested the main accused Tarlok Singh from the bus stand of Mehrampur village of the district, late on Friday.

Tarlok Singh of Wajidpur village was booked on Thursday on the complaint of Manjeet Kaur, the girl's mother.

Rahon SHO Surender Chand said that a police party recovered the girl and arrested Tarlok, who was waiting for a bus at Mehrampur bus stand on Friday night.

"The girl was produced into the court on Saturday and handed over to the family members after a medical examination was carried out at the civil hospital. Tarlok has been sent 14-day judicial custody," he said.

He also said that in her statement to the court, the girl had stated that she knew Tarlok very well and had talked with him many times over phone.

He said that the medical report of the girl was still awaited.

The SHO didn't agree with girl's mother Manjeet Kaur that her daughter was abducted Tarlok and his friend in broad daylight from the bus stand. "It is difficult to believe that two boys can abduct a girl from bus stand and nobody heard her cries for help," the SHO said.
