Abohar girl makes it to under-16 world archery championship

Simranjeet Kaur, 15, a plus 2 student of LRS DAV Senior Secondary Model School, Abohar, has been selected to represent the country at the under-16 Youth World Championship (Archery) to be held at Yangton, the United States, from June 6 to 15.

On Saturday, she was heartily welcomed by Dev Mittar Ahuja and Kusum Khungar, chairman and principal of the school respectively and others.

During the ceremony, organised in her honour, the principal congratulated her for her achievement.

Simranjeet Kaur had got second position in the under-17 school state archery competition held at the DAV school campus and participated in the school national games in Kolkata in 2012-13.

She had also got first position (in recurve archery) at the school-level state games held at Patiala and bagged gold medal (in sub-junior category) at the school-level national games held in Andhra Pradesh in 2013-14. She had also got a bronze medal at the national games held at Kerala.

Simranjeet Kaur expressed happiness on her selection for the championship and assured of doing her best at the event.
