The Punjab government has dismissed the services of agriculture officer Parminder Singh for not reporting on duty after he moved abroad without informing his department.

The action has been taken after following the procedure, such as issuance of a chargesheet to him and then a regular inquiry in the absence of his replies to repeated public notices as well under the Punjab civil services rules, a spokesman said here on Wednesday.
