Municipal corporation commissioner Rahul Tewari has been given the additional charge of chairman of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) and chief administrator (CA) of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA), leaving him surprised.

Orders of the state government regarding transfer and posting of IAS and PCS officials on Thursday included giving these additional charges to Tewari. Previous CA of GLADA RK Verma has been posted as secretary, department of technical education and industrial training, Chandigarh.

Supreet Singh Gulati, who had the additional charge of chairman of LIT, has also been relieved.
Tewari said he would write to the state government requesting that "so much work load was difficult to handle and he would not be able to give justice to the two other posts, which were as important as the municipal commissioner.

Tewari was posted as MC commissioner on September 19. He was earlier deputy commissioner of Ludhiana. RK Verma, who was the municipal commissioner, was posted as GLADA CA on the same date.

The transfers have been done by department of personnel (IAS branch) with effect from Thursday.
