A one-day Aerospace and Science Discovery Camp (ASDC) was held at Holy Heart Presidency School on Wednesday, where Sam Gibbs, who is known for building public outreach programs around STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) along with his team of six more scientists conducted the workshop.

Gibbs said, "The camp is designed to combine a series of hands-on and interactive activities with special demonstrations that focus on the core principles of science like Newton's Laws of Motion, the energy cycle and energy conversion work, the basic thermodynamics, properties of the visible spectrum, introduction to cosmology, astronomy, water rocket launch etc."

Explaining Newton's Laws of Motion, Gibbs said, "Rocket provides an excellent platform for teaching physics and motion. Through this kind of activity students embrace so many aspects of science and engineering while utilising recycled plastic bottles."

Gibbs says irrespective of it is a boy or a girl, both are interested in science if they are given right opportunity, and it's his job to open up their minds.

Principal Vikram Seth said, "If we want our children to do well in science and catch up with the fast-paced scientific world, then these kinds of camps and workshops are a must."
