After 3 Chennai youths, now 3 LPU students killed in road crash due to fog near Jalandhar

Road accidents due to foggy conditions continue to take lives. After three Chennai youths were killed in the wee hours of Tuesday when their car collided with a bus on the Jalandhar-Chandigarh highway, three students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) died after their car rammed into a truck on the National Highway-1 near Madhopur village here in the wee hours on Wednesday.
The accident occurred at around 2:30am when the students were on way to Phagwara railway station in a Tata Indica car. The victims have been identified as Kamalkar Roy and Ajay Devan of Telangana, and Josaf Ratan of Andhra Pradesh (AP). Victims’ friend , Ashish Kumar of Andhra Pradesh, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the civil hospital. The youths were going to the railway station to see Ashish off.
Kamalkar and Ajay were third semester students of agriculture. Josaf was in fourth-semester.
“The accident occurred due to dense fog . The car collided with a truck ahead of them ,” Chaheru police post in-charge Satpal Singh said. The families of the victims have been informed. A case has been registered.
