Close on the heels of Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty lending a starry touch to the poll campaign of BJP candidate from Amritsar Arun Jaitley, noted comedian Bharti Singh also landed in Amritsar on Saturday to seek votes for the leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, who is contesting his first Lok Sabha election.

During a door-to-door campaign in the local Green Avenue area, Bharti said, "I want all of you to vote for change and for that Jaitley Sahab is the best option. I have met him a few times and have been impressed by his vision. That's why I have personally come here to campaign for him. I urge all of you to support the BJP candidate".

In her own style, the comedian told the voters, "If you want to enjoy the election and looking for a result like Comedy Circus, let's vote for Jaitley Sahab. He will ensure a positive change in your lives."

Bharti was accompanied by BJP councillor Preeti Taneja and other party members.

Earlier on Thursday, Actor Sunil Shetty had caught an audience by surprise by making a dramatic entry on the stage at an election rally at Pandori Warraich village in this constituency, where Jaitley was already present.

Addressing the gathering Shetty had said, "Arun Jaitley is like my brother and I have come here to support him. He is a man with a vision and can not only help the country grow but will also bring prosperity to the Amritsar constituency."

Jaitley is pitted against former chief minister and Congress candidate Captain Amarinder Singh in one of the most interesting electoral fights in Punjab in the parliamentary elections.
