Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) will organise a two-day national seminar on reorientation of agricultural research to ensure national food security from January 6 to January 7, SS Siwach, director of research of the university, said here on Saturday.
He said that nearly 400 scientists and corporate officials across the country would participate in the seminar.
He said the seminar sponsored by the department of science and technology and the central government would provide a platform to the scientists to find solution to various problems confronting agricultural production and draw a coherent strategy to implement future programmers for food and nutritional security.
He said Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) vice-chancellor, BS Dhillon would be the chief guest and inaugurate the seminar, while CCSHAU vice-chancellor KS Khokhar would preside over the event.
According to Siwach, in all eight technical sessions would be held in the seminar where deliberations would be made on crop improvement, resource conservation technologies, soil health management, integrated farming, eco-friendly plant protection approaches, post-harvest management and value addition apart from public-private partnership in food security
