Members of All India Sikh Student Federation (Mehta) staged a protest here on Wednesday against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar's acquittal in one of the anti-Sikh riot cases by burning an effigy of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Holding placards and raising slogans against the Congress-led central government, the protesters demanded justice for the victims of the 1984 riots.

"It has been 30 years and still justice has not been given to the families who lost their members during the riots. We demand strict action against Sajjan Kumar," said district AISSF president Amarjit Singh Dhot.
