Akali leader Kulwinder Singh of village Moron in Phillaur sub-division on Thursday alleged 'inhuman torture' by cops of Appra Police post led by post-incharge Pushp Bali.
In an affidavit given to the media, Singh, husband of an Akali Panch of village Moron stated that on the night of January 13, policemen came to his residence and forcibly took him to the Appra police post, without specifying any reason for same.
"As soon as I reached the police post, some policemen led by Bali started beating me mercilessly and even asked three of accused, lodged in the cell of police post,to urinate on my face", he alleged.
Narrating the incident, he said, "the three accused also put their genitals in my mouth, apart from beating me continuously".
He also accused the post in-charge of demanding Rs 50,000 for discharging him, which he borrowed from a commission agent of the village.
When contacted, the police officer concerned Bali refuted such allegations and termed them 'false and baseless'. He claimed that Kulwinder was a known bad character of the village.
He claimed that even the Moron village panchayat had refuted Singh's allegations.
“On January 15, two days before he says I tortured him, Kulwinder had honoured me in a public function, attended by all villagers. The allegations are rubbish,” Bali said.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Yurinder Singh Hayre could not be contacted for his comments on the case.
