Akali MPs get less time to speak in Parliament, says Dhindsa

Being a small party at the national level, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MPs get less time to speak in Parliament, said SAD Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, adding that nevertheless he would raise the issue of minimum support price (MSP) of crops and other national and international issues during the upcoming monsoon session.

Being a small party at the national level, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MPs get less time to speak in Parliament, said SAD Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, adding that nevertheless he would raise the issue of minimum support price (MSP) of crops and other national and international issues during the upcoming monsoon session.

Dhindsa, who was here to inaugurate the new science block of Arya Senior Secondary School, condemned the Congress and former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi for being partial with Punjab on riparian law of water distribution and creating the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue but skipped the question that the maximum land was acquired by the Akali government in 1985 when chief minister Prakash Singh Badal was MLA in the gover nment.

In a reply to a question about many government teachers failing in basic tests recently, indicating discrepancies in employing them, he said it was a great initiative by the government to organise such an event.
