The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) on Wednesday nabbed Tarsem Singh, another accused wanted by the police in connection with the assault on advocate Vineet Mahajan.

With the arrest of Tarsem, all the eleven accused in the case have been arrested by the police.

The arrest comes a few days after BJP councillor Prabhjit Rataul, another accused in the case, was nabbed by the police.

Advocate Vineet Mahajan, who had dragged state local bodies minister Anil Joshi to the court in the 'dual vote' case and three other cases, was brutally attacked in Amritsar on May 10. Vineet and his brother sustained serious injuries in the attack.

The advocate had alleged that Anil Joshi had "engineered" the attack on him, but Amritsar Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh had rejected the accusation and claimed that the minister had absolutely no role in the attack.

As there was a great hue and cry over the attack, the DGP had formed a special investigation team (SIT) that is now looking into the case.

On Wednesday, BJP councillor Rataul was sent to judicial custody whereas Tarsem has been remanded in police custody for two days.
