Punjab chief minister and SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal in a public address in Bassi Pathana indicated that all is not well in the Fatehgarh Sahib unit of his party.

The CM had asked SAD general secretary Prem Singh Chandumajra, Bassi Pathana MLA Justice Nirmal Singh, SAD district president Jagdeep Singh Cheema, former MLA Didar Singh Bhatti and senior SAD leader Ranjit Singh Libra to sink their difference and work for strengthening the party.

From Badal's speech SAD workers have reportedly realised that that the Punjab CM is not happy with their working in the district. Badal has also expressed his anticipation over SAD's poor show in forthcoming Lok Sahba election due to internal rifts.

Some Akali workers have said they are fed up with the groupism among the SAD leaders and they have decided to keep distance from their senior leaders.

Absence of SAD vice-president and SGPC executive member Karnail Singh Panjoli from Badal's functions is also being seen as an instance of the party's internal fight. Panjoli had opposed the appointment of Joginder Pal Singla as chairman of district planning committee (DPC), Fatehgarh Sahib by Badal.
