All eyes are on the counting centre in Desh Bhagat College, Baradwal, Dhuri, where the counting of the votes for this Lok Sabha constituency will take place on Friday. The counting of votes will start at 8 am.

All preparation have been made for the smooth counting of the votes as electronic voting machines of all nine assembly segments have already been kept at the counting centre.

Sangrur returning officer Kavita Singh who visited the counting centre on Wednesday to take stock of the security arrangements, said that the counting of votes of all nine assembly segments would be done separately in nine halls. She said that each counting hall would have 14 tables, where one counting supervisor, one counting assistant and one micro-observer would be appointed. She said that three observers had been appointed by the election commission to monitor the counting process at the counting centre.

Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu has said elaborate security arrangements had been made to conduct the counting and CRPF guards and Punjab police personnel would keep a vigil.
