Amarinder crying hoarse in frustration: Sukhbir

punjab Updated: Feb 14, 2013 14:11 IST

Shiromani Akali Dal president and Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday said state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh was crying hoarse in frustration as he could see the Congress' decimation after impending defeat in Moga assembly bypoll.

Addressing massive gathering in the favour of SAD-BJP candidate Joginder Paul Jain at Charrik village, Sukhbir said the luxury loving defeated Maharaja was in the battlefield of Moga with a truck of ovens and chefs to say his last goodbye, otherwise he was not accessible even to his family what to talk about party leaders or workers.

Dwelling on the development initiatives and governance reforms of the SAD-BJP government, Sukhbir said Captain has been rendered irrelevant by the flurry of development activities in the state.

He said State Congress president was also panickly witnessing expeditious completion of all the development projects initiated by SAD-BJP government in the state.

The deputy chief minister said the main plank of the Shiromnai Akali Dal would always be development and people's empowerment through governance reforms.

Lashing at Punjab Congress leadership for its anti-Punjab attitude, he said that its leaders were not only busy in meeting the Union Ministers concerned to hinder the development projects of the state sanctioned by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, but they were also giving misleading statements about state's financial status to create doubts among the investors who wanted to invest in the state.
