Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said Congress candidate Amarinder Singh is insulting the people of the holy city as he could not reach here even a week after the announcement of his candidature.

"Everyone knows about your absenteeism and royal inaccessibility but please extend this Holy city the courtesy of paying it a visit, instead of issuing proxy statements from God knows where," Majithia said in a statement here.

"Any other person in his shoes would have come rushing in to pay obeisance at Darbar Sahib and other holy places in this sacred city. No one except Amrinder has ever shown such arrogance towards the holy city," he said.

The SAD leader said that he was amused to find that Amarinder is still not out of his "Maharaja(Emperor) mindset".
