Amritsar jailbreak incident: two undertrails still absconding

Two days after the Amritsar jailbreak incident, wherein three undertrials made their escape good, two of them are still at large. Even though police had captured one undertrial, Suraj Kumar, on Wednesday, the other two, Narain Singh and Budh Singh, are still on the run.

Two days after the Amritsar jailbreak incident, wherein three undertrials made their escape good, two of them are still at large.


Even though police had captured one undertrial, Suraj Kumar, on Wednesday, the other two, Narain Singh and Budh Singh, are still on the run.

Meanwhile, after chief minister Parkash Singh Badal ordered a probe into the incident, IG (prisons) Jagjit Singh visited the Amritsar central jail on Thursday.

As per information, the IG looked into the circumstances under which the jailbreak incident took place. He also talked to the jail officials on key issues. Talking to HT, Amritsar police commissioner Ram Singh said: "Two undertrials are still on the run. Various police parties are on the job and raids are being conducted to nab the duo."
