After remaining absent for long from the Amritsar constituency which he represents in the Lok Sabha, cricketer- turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu arrived here on Thursday, a day after the polling, and claimed that the holy city will always remain “dear to my heart”.

Sidhu, in an informal chat with the media, said, “My roots are here and I will always look towards Amritsar. I will never ever leave this city”.

Sidhu, who was denied the BJP ticket from Amritsar, refused to discuss politics and did not say anything on his absence from his ‘guru’ Arun Jaitley’s campaign in the constituency.

He went straight to his new residence for some religious ceremonies amd remained in all day, but did not meet Jaitley who left for the national capital in the evening.
