The members of the association wore black badges throughout the country and organised a peaceful demonstration during lunch hour on Friday.

Talking about their demands, Anil Khanna, joint secretary of the association, said that their members were retiring in PB2 scale after getting only one promotion in their service career on account of decades-long acute stagnation, while their other counterparts were retiring in PB4 scale after getting five-six promotions.

He said their members were deprived of appropriate pay scale/pay band and grade pay. The other demands of the association include permanent approval of proposed posts filled by promotions only, at least four functional promotions in service career, immediate implementation of the Supreme Court verdict by framing recruitment rules and revision in grade pay.

Talking about their future course of action, Khanna said they would be submitting mass resignations on April 30 as a mark of protest.
