The Police also claimed to have recovered a made-in-Germany revolver and five cartridges from Billa and a double-barrel gun.

Addressing a press conference, additional deputy commissioner of police (crime), HS Brar said, "The police had registered a caser against four persons who opened fire on a police party a few days back. At that time, two suspects named Ranbir Singh Rana and Jagroop Singh were nabbed, whereas Balwinder and Rachpal had managed to flee."

On Friday, a police party led by inspector Arwinder Singh got a tip off about the suspects' whereabouts, after which the duo was arrested.

Brar said the double-barrel gun had been snatched by Jagroop from Majitha area last year.

The police officer also claimed that a few cases were pending against Billa. The police were also making efforts to nab the members of the rival gang, with whom the suspects were indulging in a gang war.
