Cop kills wife with service weapon

A Punjab police head constable killed his wife with his service weapon after a minor dispute at their home. The policeman, identified as Sukhwinder Singh, is on the run. The victim has been identified as Palwinder Kaur. In a complaint to the police, Harmandeep Singh, son of the couple, said his parents used to quarrel often.

 "On September 27, when my father was drinking, a quarrel broke out and he started beating up my mother. He shot down her and ran away after threatening me to remain silent," Harmandeep added. The police have registered a case against the policeman and are yet to arrest him.

Riot victims burn Capt's effigy
