With a message of peace and friendship, a Pakistani cricket team of disabled players reached India via the Attari road border on Tuesday.

The 29-member contingent comprises players and officials and the team will be playing India in Faridabad this month.

Talking to reporters after reaching here, Abbas Hashmi, chairman of Pakistan Cricket Association for Physically Handicapped said: "We are here to play a cricket series with India. During the series, we will play three one day internationals and one T20 match. All the games will be played in Faridabad."

On the opportunities for disabled players, Hashmi, said: "In Pakistan, we are working to uplift the game. The series with India will definitely be a great exposure. The Indian team had recently visited Pakistan and played a series against us. There is scope for disabled cricket players in India, Pakistan, UK, Sri Lanka and couple of other nations. We want a tournament of SAARC nations to be held soon."

The Pakistani cricket team captain Mohammad Fayyaz said disability could not dampen their spirit. "We are looking forward to this tour as a great exposure and hope to do well," he said. "We are here with a message of peace and friendship."
