Five in a row: GNDU wins youth-fest trophy

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) won the overall championship trophy fifth time in a row at North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival that concluded recently.

The Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, organised the 29th edition of the festival at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. In the festival, 28 universities of North India participated in music, dance, theatre, fine-arts, and literary contests.

GNDU's youth welfare director Jagjit Kaur, leader of the contingent, received the trophy from Meghalaya governor Dr KK Paul, chief guest at the valedictory function. The university also grabbed the music and fine-arts contests' trophirs along with the runners-up prize in dance.

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University vice-chancellor RC Sobti was present at the awards function. GNDU vice-chancellor AS Brar and other officials congratulated the youth welfare department and winning students.
