Fog delays flights

As the city and its adjoining areas continue to be in the grip of dense fog, various flights were either delayed or had to be cancelled on Saturday.


As per airport officials, the Turkmenistan Airways flight coming from Ashagabad was delayed by 6 hours and 30 minutes, The Air India flight coming from Delhi was delayed by two hours. The SpiceJet flight coming from Delhi was delayed by two-and-a-half hours. While a Qatar Airways flight from Doha was delayed by two hours, a Jet Airways flight coming from Delhi had to be cancelled.

The dense fog also upset the schedule of some trains. The movement of traffic on roads also remained sluggish owing to poor visibility.

'Spying' case: Air man remanded in 10-day police custody

The court on Sunday remanded air man Sunil Kumar, accused of passing on information about the Pathankot air base to a suspected Pakistani agent, in 10-day police custody. Kumar was arrested on the charges of spying on Saturday.
