Around 9.30am, the troops observed some packets 50 metres ahead of security fence and about 200 metres from the international border. Moving into the spot, they found the heroin, a mobile phone, and nine cartridges over there.

In view of the increased threat of drug smuggling from Pakistan during rains, BSF inspector general (Punjab frontier) AK Tomar has issued operational guidelines to his teams to maintain border domination.
