More than 180 students from various ICSE-affiliated schools have been participating in the tournament hosted by St Francis School here.

"A total of 11 teams have been formed from eleven different regions chalked out by the ICSE and the best players have been chosen from different schools to form the most competitive teams,"said Roby, coordinator of the northern region.

"The enthusiasm among the players is at its zenith for the tournament and they are ready to give their best. We have advised all the participants that playing well is more important than winning or losing,"he added.

He further said all the players considered Sachin Tendulkar as their idol and had been looking forward to perform like him.

Chief executive officer (CEO) of Amritsar Cantonment Board was the chief guest on the occasion.

The culmination day, November 20, will be sponsored by Anjali Tendulkar and Aarti Sehwag.
