*Simranjeet Singh Mann did not oath as MP in 1989, as he insisted on taking his kirpan into the House but was disallowed.

*Despite being brother-in-law of Congress Candidate from Amritsar and former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh (Capt's wife Preneet Kaur's real sister is married to Mann), Simranjeet Singh Mann is the president of the outfit SAD (Amritsar).

*Congress candidate Harminder Singh Gill had been president of All India Sikh Student Federation( AISSF) and had been jailed from 1984 to 1989.

*Belonging to Gurbani Kirtan Maryada (he is 13-generation exponent), Bhai Baldeep Singh revived musical instruments of Sikh gurus and crafted them. He has won several awards, including the Bhai Rattan Singh Memorial award.
