In his second consecutive visit to his forgotten constituency Gurdaspur Vinod Khanna former MP of Gurdaspur has once again tried to satisfy his critics by citing his ill health for not coming here quite frequently.

Khanna is staking claims on the Pathankot BJP ticket in the coming LS polls despite being aware of the ire of locals for remaining away from Gurdaspur and Pathankot for at least three years. Khanna now is claiming to be fit to act his role in politics once again.

Khanna is back again in the town to attend the BJYM Maha Rally against the corruption and black money which is scheduled on 30th of September. Khanna is facing a stiff competition from National Executive member of BJP Swaran Salaria who had remained active in the Assembly Polls and has been spending much of his time to attain relations at grass root level.

Khanna while addressing a press conference claimed that Gurdaspur was his work land and he feels the pain for remaining away from his constituency which was not in his hands due to the health hazards.

He said that I deserve for this ticket as I have done much for this area. He described his achievements as a key point for his claim. I gave area the Air port but the present MP could do little for this territory which was given lot of things. His wife Kavita Khanna who was accompanying him also stressed that her husband was the right candidate for BJP selection.

The rally of BJYM has turned an interesting issue as Swaran Salaria who is also head on to stake claims on the Gurdaspur MP ticket would also be sharing stage with Khanna. Salaria when contacted claimed that his work for the territory and presence for the area residents is self explanatory and party is aware of my dedication for the territory he concluded.
