A 16-year-old girl on Thursday delivered a six-month foetus in town's Bhadroya locality. The girl has alleged that her cousin Omi had been raping her since Jnauary this year. Omi, 35, has been booked for rape and is reportedly absconding.

The girl had been administered some pills by Omi for abortion, which worked and on Thursday the girl underwent labour pain. When girl's condition started deteriorating, her parents rushed her to Pathankot civil hospital.

The girl told the police Omi raped her for the first time in January this year when she had gone to her aunt's house. She alleged that her cousin gave her some sedatives in the tea and raped her. She said that Omi kept exploiting her sexually after that by blackmailing her.

DSP VS Sandhu confirmed the incident and said that the accused, Omi, has been booked under sections 376 and 328 of the IPC and efforts are on to nab him. He said that the victim was out of danger.
