Villagers Sabu and Bhinder of Kotli Dasaundi were on Sunday made accused in a rape case registered at Bhindi Saidan on the complaint of a married woman.

Committed on Thursday (July 11), the crime was reported late because the fear of social stigma had kept the victim away from police. The Amritsar rural police now have registered the case.

The victim's statement suggests she had moved in with her parents after disagreement with in-laws and on at 3pm on Thursday, was alone at home when Sabu and Bhinder entered the house and raped her. Assistant sub-inspector Prabhjit Singh of Bhindi Saidan police station said the hunt for the accused was on.
