New BSF DIG takes over in Amritsar sector

Taking over as the new Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the BSF in Amritsar Sector, IPS officer M.F. Farooqui said that aim will be educate the villagers in border region to further keep a check on the cross border smuggling.

Farooqui while interacting with the mediapersons at the local BSF headquarters said, "Definitely controlling drug smuggling is a major challenge and my aim will be to further up the vigil along the border to end the menace. For this, my aim will also be to educate and motivate the villagers along the border to fight against the drug menace."

It is very important to educate the villagers as they along with the BSF can play a crucial role in controlling the smuggling, added the DIG BSF.

Since the 1995 batch officer has served in Punjab police till now, he feels that this experience will definitely help him in the new assignment.

"I have come from the Punjab Police and definitely it will help in coordination between officials of the state police and central agencies. It is very important to work together to eradicate the drug menace."
