NRI's purse containing cash, jewellery stolen

An NRI, Ramandeep Kaur Randhawa from Canada, and a resident of Bariar village near here, on Sunday said that someone had stolen her purse from a local Hospital on Saturday which contained Rs. 15,000 and 60-gram gold ornaments.

She said she had gone to the hospital for the check-up of her daughter, who was suffering from fever. She said that when she came out of the doctor's cabin, she found her purse missing from the waiting room where she had left it.

She said she had reported the theft to the local police. When contacted, superintendent of police (detective) Jagjit Singh Saroa said they were examining the recording of the CCTV camera to trace the thief.
