Pensioner's Day marked

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) marked the Pensioner's Day by holding a session in the Guru Nanak Bhavan.

Problems faced by the pensioners were discussed. Dr Inderjit Singh, the varsity registrar, was the chief guest. Singh said he would raise all the issues faced by pensioners.

Other speakers during the discussion were Giant Singh and, the president and general secretary of Pensioners Association, respectively.

Unplanned divider ruins charm of McLeod Road

Morning walkers in the holy city have lost what was, perhaps, their last remaining favourite road.
An unplanned concrete divider has killed the beauty of Mcleod Road running along the Government College for Girls (GCG). The strolls over there used to be smooth, as the road used to be wide and traffic-free. The median has brought in potholes, logjams, and encroachment.
