The RMP, identified as Baljeet Singh, was booked under sections 354 (misbehaving with a woman) and 506 (issuing threats to life) by the Chola Sahib police on the complaint victim's husband.

Goindwal Sahib DSP Harpal Singh, while confirming the incident, said that the accused was still at large. He said special teams had been constituted to nab him.

According to the FIR registered by the police, the 23-year-old woman and her husband had gone to the RMP's clinic as she was suffering from high fever. The RMP took her to an adjoining cabin for examination.

In the cabin, the RMP asked the patient to remove her clothes and when she refused to do so, the accused allegedly attempted to take off her garments himself and even threatened her. When she raised an alarm, her husband, along with two other patients, who were sitting outside, immediately forced their entry into the cabin and rescued the woman.

According to the police, the RMP however managed to escape and could not be caught despite being chased. Thereafter, the victim's husband, along with a few others, reported the matter to the Chola Sahib police, which registered a case.

The police also raided the house of the RMP. Hailing from nearby Nanadpur village, the RMP had shifted to Chola Sahib some years back and set up a clinic there.

The panchayat members who held a meeting have condemned the incident and asked the police to nab the accused as soon as possible. The panchayat has also sealed the clinic.
