Rs 352 crore online payment in Pathankot and Gurdaspur in Q1

The Punjab government has disbursed Rs. 7,281 crore to more than 14 lakh beneficiaries in the first quarter by the online system, since the computerisation of treasury offices.

A finance departments spokesperson said that crediting online payments had been a success. He said that through this recently implemented system of online payments to various departments, authorities besides salaries of government officials/employees, Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts had credited Rs. 352 crore in three months.

He said that the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) had been monitoring the system of online payments sicne its start on April 1, 2013.

He said that in Gurdaspur Treasury, Rs. 148 crore had been given and the number of beneficiaries were 55,338. In Batala treasury, Rs. 69 crore had been disbursed. In Pathankot Rs. 54 crore had been disbursed to 19,261 beneficiaries.
