The Amritsar City Police have booked a 21-year-old man identified as Wazira and two unidentified persons on charges of abducting and sodomizing a 12-year-old schoolboy while he was on his way to school. A case in this regard has been registered under sections 363/377/34 IPC at Chheharta Police Station against Wazira and two other unidentified persons on the complaint of the victim.

However, the accused are yet to be arrested. The incident occurred on August 28, but the case was registered on Wednesday as attempts were being made to forge a compromise between the family of the victim, who is a student of class VI in a local school, and the accused, who is the neighbor of the victim.

In the complaint lodged with the police, the schoolboy, who is a resident of Hameedpura locality on Amritsar Bypass, said that on August 28, he was on his way to school when the accused came by in his car near the Polytechnic College and made him sit in his car. The victim has alleged that the accused gave him an injection where after he became unconscious.

The accused allegedly dumped the boy at Paradise enclave. He was admitted to a private hospital with complaints of pain and bleeding from his private parts and was later referred to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.

Sub Inspector Dilbagh Singh, of Ghanupur Kale Police Post, said that the medical examination of the minor boy had been conducted and confirmed sodomy. He added that a few days ago the victim's mother had an altercation with the mother of the accused. "The incident is apparently a result of this altercation as the accused wanted to teach the boy's mother a lesson," he said.

The SI added that efforts had been made to forge a compromise between the two families, but failed. "A case has been registered against the accused. Efforts are being made to arrest him and two of his accomplices," he said
