Six booked for attempt to murder

Amritsar City police have booked six people on charges of attempt to murder. They have been identified as Balwinder Singh, Prabh, Kaka, Sarabjit Kaur, Shinda and Ninder Singh, all residents of East Gobind Nagar, Sultanwind Road.

The case has been registered at the B Division police station on the complaint of Jinder Pal Singh, a resident of Sant Avenue.

ASI Gurwinder Singh, incharge, Taran Wala Pul police post, who is investigating the matter, said the complainant had alleged that the accused came by car and surrounded him. "He alleged that the accused beat him up and also snatched his mobile phone and the ATM card of his son," he said.

He said the investigations had revealed that Balwinder Singh, one of the accused, used to come to the gym run by the complainant and had not made payment.

"According to the complainant, the accused broke the windowpanes at the gym when asked why he had not cleared the payment," the police officer said.
