Ten get life imprisonment for murder

The court of additional sessions judge Baljinder Siddhu on Thursday awarded life term and imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 each on all the ten accused in the murder case of Sukhjinder Singh alias Happy of Lakhanpal village, who was killed over a money dispute on the night of August 7, 2002, at Dhariwal Khichian village near here.

The sentenced accused included Kuldeep Singh, Daljit Singh, Karnail Singh, Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, Sarbjit Singh, Tajinder Singh alias Jinda, Lakhbir Singh alias Lakha, Manjinder Singh alias Kala, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha and Arvinder Singh alias Roki, all residents of Dhariwal Khichian village.

The same court awarded two years' rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 3,000 each on all the four accused - Manjit Singh, Jatinder Singh, Surinder Singh and Gurpinder Singh, all residents of Dhariwal Khichian village, who had assaulted and injured Jarnail Singh and his family in the same village on the night of August 6, 2002.
