Three injured in a clash

Three persons, including two women, were injured in a dispute between two groups at Marrianwal village under Civil Lines police station on Friday night.


According to the information, on the occasion of Sant Kabir Jayanti, some followers of Sant Kabir, were performing a kirtan at village temple when a nearby resident belonging to some other community tried to create a ruckus in the temple under the influence of liquor.

When the devotees tried to pacify him, he called his companions, who closed down the power supply of entire village and later pelted devotees with stones.

Taro Devi, Kailash Rani and Ganesh Kumar sustained injuries. All the injured were admitted to the local civil hospital.
The police had took two persons into custody, identified as Veera and Lakha.
