After Sunil Shetty, Oberoi is the second actor from the film industry who reached Amritsar and sought votes for Jaitley.

Urging people to support Jaitley, the actor said, "I have come here especially for Arun Jaitley and I want people to support him. Jaitley has strong ties with us and the way he has performed in Rajya Sabha we want that he must replicate the same represent in Lok Sabha too."

The film actor, who started road show from Putlighar area went through Meerankot and also touched areas near Attari constituency. Standing in an open vehicle, the actor was thronged by the onlookers and followed throughout.

Notably, even as the top leaders from Delhi are yet to be part of this high pitch poll, there is no dearth of celebrities who are hitting this constituency that faces a tough fight between BJP candidate Arun Jaitley and Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh.

Starting from Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty, Kirron Kher (also a candidate from Chandigarh), comedian Bharti Singh, renowned singer Narinder Chanchal, Padamshree musician Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and now famous actor Vivek Oberoi have all visited the Holy city to campaign for Jaitley.

From road shows, to addressing public rallies and even going door-to-door, the voters of the city are finding celebrities knocking their doors in this election.

Now even though, the sitting MP and former Indian opener Navjot Singh Sidhu has denied to campaign for Jaitley, another world class spinner and former India skipper Bishen Singh Bedi has packed bags to question Jaitley.

Bedi, who is likely to reach in Amritsar on Friday will be targeting Jaitley after a tiff in Delhi District Cricket Association.

It is learnt that more celebrities and actors are likely to reach Amritsar to support the candidates.
