Talking to media persons later, Manna said he was impressed by the leadership qualities of Capt Amarinder Singh.

Manna claimed that there was a “subtle undercurrent” among the Akali workers that they should vote for Amarinder.

“People of Amritsar are not prepared to accept an outsider as their representative,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Brahmin Sabha on Thursday declared its support for Capt Amarinder Singh for his “unparalleled contribution towards the nation and Punjab”. The Sabha also recalled the “long lasting relationship of the royal family of Patiala with the Brahmins of the state”.

A delegation of the Punjab Brahmin Sabha led by its president Devi Dayal Prashar met Capt Amarinder Singh at his election office saying that they felt privileged to support him in this election. Prashar said the Brahmins of Punjab had a historic association with the Patiala family and Capt Amarinder had maintained that relationship. “There is no other leader in the state to match his stature,” he said.
