The train to link Anandpur Sahib with Amritsar will start running regularly from April 13. Anandpur Sahib MP Prem Singh Chandumajra said this here on Saturday.
He said union railway minister Suresh Prabhu had flagged off the inaugural run of the train from Anandpur Sahib on March 23 and met the long-standing demand of the locals.
He said the train would start from Nangal at 7.30am and halt at Anandpur Sahib, Kiratpur Sahib, Rupnagar, Kurali, Morinda, Samrala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Beas before reaching Amritsar at 1.05pm, adding that the train would start its return journey from Amritsar at 2.15pm.
He said that due to heavy rail traffic at the Amritsar railway station, the train would stay at the railway station only for an hour initially, and later, the halting time would be increased to three hours by making changes in the timetable.
