Yoga guru Swami Ramdev on Friday gave credit for the Lok Pal bill to anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. Simultaneously, he took the credit for introducing Hazare in north India.

The yoga guru, who was here to preside over the state executive meeting of his Bharat Swabhiman Party, said his forum had given a platform to Anna to introduce himself in the northern parts of the country where he was not much known.

He said that Anna compelled both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to pass the Lokpal Bill. Ramdev took the opportunity to hit out at Aam Admi Party convener, Arvind Kejriwal. “Anna had supported the Lokpal bill, while AAP leaders were opposed to It. AAP's stance on Lok Pal is dishonour of the 'guru-disciple'tradition. Arvind Kejriwal was not a true disciplie as he opposed Anna's stand on Lok Pal bill,” he added.

Replying to a question on supporting AAP for coming election, Ramdev said there should be an ideology to rule the nation. “AAP has not declared its ideology so far, we can't support any party without clear agenda,” he added.

On the occasion, Ramdev once again extended his support to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Gujarat chief minister Narender Modi. “We are fighting against corruption, black money and inflation. Modi supports all these agendas, that's why we are supporting him,” he said

Modi will also attend the rally to be held on the occasion of Bharat Swabhiman party's fifth anniversy in New Delhi on January 5. “Modi supports our demands that's why we are supporting him,” he said.

Drawing a parallel between Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Modi has proved a hero while, Rahul is zero.”

Our country was in the grip of corruption, inflation, unemployment and many other problems but the government has failed to provide the solution, added Ramdev. Referring to Himachal Pradesh, he said the Congress would lose all four seats in the state but Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh would not be responsible for that as all 'credit' would go to the central leadership.

Ramdev condemns homosexuality

Ram Dev, while condemning homosexuality, said the glamorisation of sex and encouragement of homosexuality in the country is responsible for gang rapes. “The need of the hour is to bring stringent law and develop our faith in Indian culture to stop this,” he said.

Even after the Congress served a defamation notice to Ramdev on his controversial homosexuality remarks, the yoga guru is firm on his statement. He said the Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Chidambaram had never uttered a word about inflation, corruption, and unemployment but after court's direction on homosexuality, Congress stalwarts started opposing section 377.“The Congress is worried as if court's order on criminalizing gay sex is a national calamity,” Ramdev added.
