In order to provide transparent and quick government service at the door step, the district administration will open 144 new service centres in the near future.
The state government has already released a grant of Rs 6.27 crore for this purpose.
Talking to reporters, deputy commissioner Varun Roojam informed that out of the 144 service centres, 31 will be constructed in urban areas while the rest will come up in rural areas.
"The centres will be established on the model of the successfully running 'suvidha kendras'. The sub-divisional magistrates have been directed to monitor the construction work and to make sure the work is completed in time," he said.
