Despite the orders issued by commissioner of police Jatinder Singh Aulakh about not opening eateries after 11pm, another eatery owner booked for serving eatables to customers till midnight.
The division number 3 police arrested the accused and registered a case under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused and arrested him. Later, the accused was released on bail.
The accused has been identified as Inderjit Singh of Ambedkar Nagar. He runs Gagan Vaishno Dhaba at Baba Than Singh Chowk.
ASI Tarlochan Singh, who arrested the accused, said he found that the accused had opened his shop till 1.30am on intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday and was serving eatables to customers, which was a violation of orders of commissioner of police.
On April 8, the police division number 3 had booked Parveen Kumar of Pandit Paranthey wala for opening till late defying orders.
It is pertinent to mention here that the commissioner of police in his orders issued on April 7 has banned opening of Dhaba and eateries after 11pm. In orders the cop said that it has been learnt that miscreants used to huddle at Dhabas late night and created ruckus there and it could disturb law and order situation in the city.
In his orders the commissioner of police has given relaxation to Dhabas around railway station, bus terminal and main hospitals.
